this site is ridiculous: if you look at our "rank," there are 3 houses listed that don't even exist at IU: Zeta Phi Beta, Sigma Gamma Rho, and Delta Sigma Theta. Clearly this site is not a reliable source of information for PNMs.

Looks like you hit a nerve with a very crazy byatch. Can you share your unbiased research? Thanks for your ideas for recruitment because I never knew I should get recs. I began Googling and noticed that it is done at IU. Thanks.

I had recs for about 6 houses and was a legacy at two ( IU )chapters. Ended up in a house where I knew no one, had no connections, and no recs. I did have one of my legacy houses on pref night, and it was very hard, but I picked the house where I felt the most comfortable, and it was a great decision. Don't get all hung up on the rec thing. They are nice to have, but this is not 'ole Miss- they are NOT required......

You are very delusional on the in's and out's of this process. You might have a rec but if you have an awful personality, I can GUARANTEE in almost every instance that they will take a nicer girl with no rec over you. This isn't the South... But get off of GreekRank and go focus on getting good grades and not building up a bad reputation for yourself first semester. That way you'll actually increase your chances at getting a bid to a good house.

Legacy status is NEVER a guarantee for most chapters unless you make it to pref round. Just because you make it to 14 party (or whatever it's going to be this year, 15) as a legacy does not mean the chapter is obligated to keep you around afterward. I've seen it happen to many girls. No one here has a nasty attitude except for that one "PNM" who claims she knows everything about IU recruitment.

Thank you......,
And to the "PNM" who keeps posting-- guess what-many of us ARE in the houses I suspect you might find desirable and your are so wrong on so many levels.....stop obsessing on recruitment and focus on school--that is after all, the reason you are coming to IU....

Doesn't mean much at IU. I think it matters more in the South. I was a legacy at 3 houses, but only got one of them back for Pref night (and ended up deciding to join a different one anyway). You should definitely put your legacy status on the forms when you register for rush, because it can help you out, but don't obsess over it. Lots of girls either don't get bids from their legacy houses, or they realize they don't want to join their legacy houses.

Over 800 girls who rushed either did not get bids, or dropped out in the middle of rush (check out the article that was just published in the NY times). Don't get hung up over your "dream house," because really if you make it into any house you are lucky and if you're a friendly person you can end up making friends anywhere.

To the idiot that said "most of us will be pledging a house" You're wrong. IU recruitment is extremely difficult and competitive. More girls that went through recruitment did not receive a bid than did. Obviously I'm not trying to scare you but you can't go in expecting to receive a bid.

Most WILL get a house if they want one. Quit trying to boost your pathetic self esteem. If
You got in there is a chance for anyone.
