unhoused sororities

Listen, I know it seems like no one wants to join the unhoused chapters, but if that were true, they wouldn't have any members. During rush, the talk is brutal. People say the meanest nastiest things about certain chapters. But during the rest of the year, its not like that. Those girls are happy in their chapters. They are in no way in danger of losing their charters. I'm in a pretty desirable chapter and none of my sisters and I look down on those chapters. In fact, just like 30 minutes ago I ended up browsing through one of their tumblrs (won't say which one) and you can really see how much fun they have. If they didn't, there would be no chapter.

If you do end up in your third choice, just give it a try. This goes to anyone who ends up in an unhoused chapter. I mean, you might as well try it right? And remember this, you get out of it what you put into it. If you're gonna mope around and be depressed that you didn't get into a better house, then I guarantee you won't be happy.

It's better to be unhoused than not Greek at all. You will not get the same experience for sure and a lot of people will look down on you, but if it is important for you to be Greek then this is an alternative. I don't think any of them will close any time soon, but the biggest danger would be if they change the way we do bed rush. I think it would be very hard for all those new less desirable groups to survive if all the other sororities could take much bigger pledge classes.

If you don't end up with a bid at all, then think about going out for Sigma Kappa. That is a much bigger and nationally stronger group than the other unhoused sororities. I think they have the best chances of thriving here because of that and the fact that they are committed to getting a house.
