houses
by: why not?Why doesn't IU help the un-housed sororities by building a large condo with separate units that can house all 3 and them renting to them. IU wants to keep its hands on as much land and buildings as they can anyway - they are desperate to get the 3rd street houses, so it's the best of both worlds. If it works at a competitive SEC school like Auburn it can surely work here.
#3by: yeah but
so where do you think IU just "gets the money to build condos" ? They should "just" buy the land and build large condos so that more girls can say they live in a house? Sounds very expensive. Why don't all of the girls in the unhoused chapters try to live near each other somewhere? Same result, and the rest of us won't have to pay for it in our tuition and expenses.

It is a huge investment for any NPC to just build a house. The costs that are associated with it are way high and that could set back some National HQ for future expansion on another campus. Suggestion is to work with your National HQ and Alumni to start a "Capital Campaign" to raise funds. That is what some NIC and NPC Greeks did at IU. I know It coud take some time, but at least your Alumni are investing in your chapters future, plus it will creat a much stronger unity with alumni and actives.

That seems to be the problem with new sororities coming to a big Greek Campuses with a good % of the Greeks (NPC & IFC) have houses. New sororities or "Colonies" think they are going to get a house within one year. NOT THE CASE!!!! If some of these girls in unhoused sororities throught that, then they joined for all the wrong reasons. Or if their IHQ told them that, then they LIED, just to get #'s.
