how much do looks matter?

Speaking the harsh truth, for "top" houses, how much do looks matter? Is a gorgeous girl with great style and an eh personality more likely to get a bid than an average looking girl with a good personality? I've been told some make cuts at the 22 party based solely on looks, assuming the PNM has the adequate gpa.

Why would you even be interested in a house that has such expectations that you can't make? Just because it's "top?" This is where PNMs get in trouble. When you aren't honest with yourself and want things only because others say they are the best. They may not be the best for you. If you rank them high and you happen to get invited to the second parties, you may have lost some of the other houses you would better fit in with and have a better chance of getting a bid from, but you won't have those anymore when the "top" houses drop you after second parties. This is how PNMs get completely dropped before preference. BE HONEST AND TRUE TO YOURSELF!

Just be yourself and please don't think about the tier system during recruitment. If you have to try really hard to get into a "top" chapter, then you most likely will not enjoy it once you're actually in and living with the girls. Be yourself and the rest will work out!

I can tell you... it's up to the girls that you talk to. I may care more or less about looks than one of my sisters. It also depends on what other recruitment officers tell their house, but it's probably more sisters trying to uphold the reputation of their house.

if looks are the only thing that matters to a house, do you really want to be a member there? Do you want to have to remain a beautiful size 0 for the rest of your college life? Every single day???? I want to be pretty and all but also to not have the pressure to keep up with the size 0 thing for four years.
