how long until initiation?

Initiation varies by house. But you will be going to pairs and stuff during bid week, so right away. Also you'll be expected to participate in your philanthropy and go to other philanthropies right away, too. Whether or not you're allowed to go to formal depends on the house, but most let you. It all depends! While you don't get initiated right away you will be treated as new members of your chapter right away--they want you to feel at home! Good luck with recruitment and have fun!
