You are going to have to live in at least 1 year in every housed chapter at IU. Some require two years live in. Last year there were record breaking big new member classes so some sophomores in some houses did live out but you shouldn't count on that. This is a requirement of sorority life and one of the best parts of it imo

dumb***…don’t go through rush if you don’t want to love on. Have fun or go to another school.

The last thing you want to do as a PNM is go into a new house and start asking for special treatment. Live in requirements build sisterhood. If you don't want to live in and aren't willing to break your lease, drop now and don't take spots from girls who actually want to be here

do you have some health condition or other issue that kept you from living in the dorms? if the answer is no you have no good reason not to live in your sorority house. if that's a nonstarter for you please drop so we don't cut girls for you.

hey girl a lot of the houses are understanding and cannot drop you because of a lease!! don’t mention it (some people are bias and could drop you) but you should be fine. I’m a sophomore & live out and just make time for both groups!! come to the house to hang out with friends and spend time with ur roommates :)

They can totally kick you for that if it's requirement and they otherwise can't fill their house.

Without live in requirements the sororities couldn't afford the houses; they have to keep them full. When you join a sorority you have to pull your weight and follow the rules and meet financial expectations. "Rules for thee but not for me" doesn't fly in Greek life, it only works when everyone participates. If you want to do your own thing you can do that all by yourself but not as a member.

I'd be upfront about this and see what they say!

alot of chapters will let you live out since there is a larger number of girls taken for each member class. when they send out forms for housing arrangements just be honest. for some houses you might have to pay a live out fee tho so take that into consideration.

Whatever u do, DO NOT LIVE IN THAT APARTMENT. Live in the house or u will regret it for the rest of ur college years. I PROMISE U. Speaking from experience

i guarantee you don’t want to separate the two worlds. either live in the house and bring ur other friends over, or don’t rush at all.
