Informal Rush (plz be honest)
by: PnmHow likely are you to get a bid from informal? And which chapters are doing informal?

Your best chance for a sorority bid is formal rush. The term 'informal' is misleading because it makes it seem like there is a secondary rush right after rush. Not the case. Who does it depends on how the numbers shake out after bid day. Chapters that are not at Total can offer a few more bids but the odds are against you getting one and the stronger a rush a house has means the fewer spots they will have, if any. A house that released you early in the process is not likely to turn around and offer you a bid. Stay in the process and belong to a sorority and a lifelong sisterhood, and don't do it for tiers or ranks or pairings or based off of anything a stupid frat boy tells you.

Recruitment at IU is rough. Informal is not a practical alternative for most PNMs who are cut or drop out so I don't want to give you false hope. It's typically (but not always) for girls who just missed the cut at the very end. There are some houses that participate in COB right after formal recruitment ends and that might be an option worth considering if you really want to be involved in greek life.

It depends on how close u were to getting asked back to the chapters that cut you..(which u really have no way of knowing) Consider more than just your top tier houses and u will have a better chance.. in the end being a part of any sorority is worth it if you are in it for sisterhood and fun vs rankings. There are fun, beautiful, kind people in every chapter (too much of iu recruitment is who u know vs who u are)
