deep south vs iu greek life

Depends on the house. Some will have nearly identical attire, some are pure indiana houses. Money doesnt have the pull here it does in the South, people will be more focused on your character/prrsonality. Were you initiated before you transferred? I was going to recommend finding out through rush but that might not be your case

FIrst big difference -- NO ONE wears a dress and heels to a football game. IU does not do game day dresses. Tailgating is a down and dirty drunkfest. Second big difference -- NO ONE cares who your family is unless you're Tom Crean's daughter. Indiana is midwestern, so the culture is very different here. There is no such thing as Old Row or old money. It's a great campus with great opportunities, but it's a whole different animal than Bama.

It's definitely different. In the Midwest, people care very little about "who you are" or how much money you have. It's all about having a balanced life and getting along with people. So PNMs could have it easier or harder depending on how you look at it.
For girls, IU has one of the most difficult rushes in the country. It's as intense as rush in the South, and getting a "top tier" bid (Tridelt, Pi Phi, APhi, Zeta, Kappa) is extremely difficult. Somewhere around half of the girls have a hard time getting a bid at all.
For guys, just be able to talk and mesh well with a group of guys. It's not so bad, and even if you dont get a "top" bid (FIJI, EX, Beta, PiKapps), you'll end up somewhere. Good luck!
