i mean they could definitely help you out if you are friends. they could put a good word in to the brothers if he thinks you would fit well with the frat.

many guys wont get invited to a house if they do not already know someone in that particular house

It's very tough to get a bid from a top house if you don't know someone in it. I'd say for most top houses 90 percent of kids that got bids knew someone

it doesn't mean you will get a bid, but it can certainly get your foot in the door. It also depends on how much influence the guy you know has (rush chairs and presidents have more influence etc.)

With rushing a fraternity, Its almost necessary if you want to get invited to any real events, this is true for some houses a lot more than others
