just out of curiosity

I've been reading a lot of nasty and negative comments towards aphi even though they're considered a top house. Without saying any names would any of you mind sharing all these negative impressions and experiences you have of them. I'm curious lol

For the people in the back...they are NOT a top house any longer. They are living of past rep and a greek system who refuses to let it go. Seriously, they aren't a bad house, they just aren't elite anymore. They have more average girls than above average girls, five years ago this wasn't the case. They have been in trouble with both IU and their national for excessive partying, low GPA, not taking recruitment seriously, etc. Five years ago, again, not the case, they could hold their booze without getting sloppy drunk, they could fill a pledge class without giving snap bids, etc.

Pi Phi, XO are far above them now. I would put Alpha Phi, AXO, Kappa in the next group down..still good chapters, just not as "good".

I’m a girl that is in another house, but i knew 3 of them first semester that are really nice girls. I obviously can only speak on behalf of those three, but they all are very nice to me and the other girls we were with first semester. The ones i know are freshman

I know a lot of girls in aphi one of them is actually really sweet but most of them are nasty people if I’m being totally honest. The girls I know were in constant catty arguments and talking behind each other’s backs and having roommate drama before they even joined aphi. Of course after they all rushed they pretended that anyone who wasn’t in aphi was totally irrelevant and anyone who wasn’t in a top tier house didn’t even exist. I even know girls who have transferred schools after being alienated and bullied by all their “friends” in aphi. I know girls in every single house and no other is generally well known for treating members of other chapters badly. Pi phi and chi o are just as “top” and yet they don’t have this reputation even though they certainly have some mean girls as our top tier chapters. I know dozens of women in bottom tier chapters that are much more attractive than many of the girls in know in aphi but somehow aphi thinks they’re too good to talk to girls in middle tier chapters half the time. I personally know a large group of aphis who stopped being friends with a girl after she joined a solidly middle tier chapter. My point is we all have negative personal experiences with alpha phis if you don’t you probably don’t know any aphis

pnms think top tier means good and well respected but no it means wealthy and superficial. I’m not saying that everyone in top tier fits that but that is what tier level is based on and it is also why aphi has gained such a bad reputatition in the past few years. They take girls based entirely on money partying and looks. That’s not exactly a recipe for sisterhood and it is why aphi is falling. They’ll continue to take the girls who don’t care about anything except for being an aphi and they’ll end up like tri delt if they’re not careful. The nice fun girls who frats actually like are starting to choose top mid or other top houses over aphi’s plummeting reputation

To sum up Aphi: I told a girl during rush that I had gone to Brazil over the summer, and she responded: “Oh my god I love Mexico, my parents have a house there!”
