fall informal sorority rush

by: Junior transfer

Transferring in the fall and want to do informal so that I have more time with my sorority if I choose to join.

I’m coming from Georgia and don’t know anyone at IU. Do I need to know people to get invited to the first round of formal? Also, as I understand it, all sororities are housed except ASA and they all have live in requirements.

Would I be required to live in during my second semester? I hope not because I already signed a year long lease.

Aside from sororities, any other orgs that are good for transfers to make friends?

So I'm going to try to answer all your questions. Asa and dphie and probably tpa will do informal in the fall and will take a junior. Because you're a junior formal would honestly be a waste of your time (not in a mean way but in a we have an absolutely grueling two week formal rush that you would end up with the exact same options as you would have during informal bc no other houses will take juniors way). Those houses will have an open first round of informal so you won't need an invite for that! You are correct that asa is the only unhoused sorority but sk will be unhoused after this coming school year. All houses have a live in requirement but any of the houses you check out in the fall won't make you live in second semester but will probably make you live in senior year.
