Calls must have started there is a girl on my floor that said she was released from recruitment. I feel so bad for her and for the Rho Gamma that had to call her 🙁

Someone on my floor, too. She was crying in the bathroom. Guess she ranked two chapters but both were ones that opted not to take QAs? Now I'm so scared.

quota addition. It's a way to place girls who were too low on the either bid list to matc. Most schools make all chapters take them but IU sororities get a choice.

Why would houses not opt to do QA's. That's ridiculous.

That is ridiculous. And, if chapters opt to do that, it should be made public so that a pnm knows if they are picking a house that would intentionally leave them in the cold, vs another who would believes that every girl that attends prefs deserves a bid.

What it means is neither pref chapter scored them high enough to put them on their first bid list and now they're forced to take them. The assignment of QAs does not necessarily go by the the PNM's ranking. A lot of other things go into it, so you can't assume you're that quota addition new member's first choice. They may be devastated to be there.

so if someone did maximize their list and is released because their two options don't take QA's, would those girls be more likely to get a snap bid from another house that might have been interested in them?

Not more likely. Just as likely though, especially if they had good interactions with a lot of chapters throughout the process.
