I KNOW IT IS EXTREMELY UNCOMMON, but in the case of a snap bid how would you be notified?

In the case of a snap, a member of the Recruitment team of that sorority would either a.) personally notify you of an offer of a snap bid the night of Recruitment and come bring it to you (which you would open in the tennis center) or b.) notify your rho gam and the rho gam will give it to you separately which you will open at the tennis center with everyone else. This would typically be done before everyone opens their bids at the tennis center so that way you would be included with everyone else and they wouldn’t know if you were a snap bid or not.

If a house doesn't make quota, a chapter can go back and look at who might have dropped out of recruitment. If they see someone they might be interested and that's still available they could offer her a snap bid. If a chapter does snap bids, the PNM has to make a decision right then (hence the word snap). The PNM would have her bid handed to her with the rest of her pledge class. Only the chapter (usually president, Rush chair and exec board) and the PNM would know she was a snap bid.

Do not confuse snap bids with COB ( continuous open bidding) which is also called informal recruitment.
