pnms, please ignore the haters

by: IU

I'm seeing a lot bashing of various houses on here and as a recent alum (as of Dec), I can promise you that your sorority tier does not matter at all. You're going to be living with there girls for a long time (until your senior year in some cases). Ask yourself if those are the girls you picture as your lifelong friends.

The bottom tier sororities seem to be taking some heat but please don't let other opinions sway your decision. Every IU chapter is fantastic and will give you the typical sorority experience.

I was in a housed "bottom" chapter and the hardest thing about graduating was leaving my sisters. I would never exchange my house for one in another tier.. ever.

I agree both Upper tier and Lower tier are getting bashed on here. Important thing is to go where you feel comfortable.

The whole tier thing is just so behind. Women should not be held back from pairing with whoever they want to whenever the groups mutually want to. If the tiers went away, it would make recruitment more focused on the woman's comfort with a good "fit" and less on some social hierarchy. It would also go a long way toward preventing hazing in groups that think they are all it because of their tier.

I even know some girls in top houses that are tired of always pairing with the same frats. They wish they could be with some other fraternities sometimes. The whole tier thing is weird.

They aren't that tired of it or they would become social chair and change things up. It's what they say to look like they care, but they really don't mind it. Also, once girls turn 21 pairs become less important to them.
