rush questions
by: nervouswhat kind of questions do sororities ask you at rush? what do you talk about? are you allowed to talk about parties? will they ask you most of the questions?

They mostly ask you basic questions like what you are interested in, where you're from, if you did anything over break. The trick is to tell interesting stories about yourself or find a common bond with the girl for you guys to talk about because otherwise it will just be you answering their basic questions. They aren't allowed to talk about parties AT ALL, but some houses will. If they do, you should tell your rho gam because it's very against panhel rules. If they are talking about it and you're uncomfortable with it, literally just tell her you don't feel comfortable and change the subject. They will understand. And you WILL NOT get in trouble for talking about it if you tell your rho gam, the girls in the chapters know not to talk about it so if they do, that's on them. And to answer your last question, generally they ask you questions and lead the conversation, but it's good for you to ask them questions too because after all, you are choosing them just as much as they're choosing you. And like I said earlier, actually talking and not just answering their questions will help you

It shold be a conversation, not one way questions with an answer. They will ask you questions to try and break the ice to find something in common that you can talk about...Where are you from? What is your major? Where do you live on campus? etc. They will be hoping to find something in common with you that will lead to a deeper more meaningful conversation. You should be planning to do the same. Try and learn something about each chapter so that you have questions/conversation starters if there is a lull. Be yourself. Be humble. Be fun.
