by: GuestI'll be attending IU in the fall and really wanted to rush and be a part of Greek life. That being said I have to get into Kelley, if not my parents are forcing my to transfer out, so grades need to be a priority. People I spoke to said that Sig Ep would be a good fraternity for me to get good grades in. I also heard they are a dry house (not sure if it's true). I like to have a good time at least on the weekends. Are they as boring and dry as everyone makes them seem or do they still have fun?

Sig Ep is an interesting case. They have no pledgeship (really bad), they are close rule followers (not fun), and attract kids that are too scared of the previously mentioned items. When you add all these elements you get a house most people looking into Greek Life wouldn't care for. If you want to be around a whole house that does well academically then they are good. On the other hand if you can be responsible and/or find dudes who care in another house you will be fine academically. Can't promise pledgeship will be easy by any means academically, but you do have study tables.
