The tridelt freshmen will probably join other third street houses or some to aephi, won't stay geeds.
TPA will get decent girls in informal fall and formal, no one too great but a few gems
ASA or DPHIE will get tridelt, the other chapter will suffer
Another frat will probably be gone in a year the way IUs been axing lately

I am a 3D pledge and today I got a COB bid from the house that was my second choice. I truly know I will be happy at the other house and am very happy to have gotten the bid. My question though is whether anyone thinks the 3D local situation can be changed or should I just bail now while I can? We have limited information but my gut is telling me to join a new group now and not wait to rush as a sophomore. Any advice? I'm conflicted as I love my pledge class but I'm not sure we have any future.

A bid in hand is better than maybe getting one next winter. If you are happy with the new chapter, go for it. DDD will not be back. There is nothing that will change the current situation, honestly. Go be happy somewhere else! Good luck.

I told my big and she was the one that then turned around and started the gossip that had my pledge class calling me a traitor. I've called some friends that are at other schools who are part of greek system and they all said what I've done is understandable given what is going on. I do wish there had been some way to save our house as I find it hard to believe what the national says about us is true. But, I have to move on. I'm really sad though and disappointed in my former sisters. I guess everyone is dealing with the situation in a different way. But I feel very let down by the way things went down.

Your Big is initiated. She does not have the options that you have and is probably a little jealous that her days as a Greek collegian are over. It is a hard situation to be in but I definitely would take the other bid and move on. You have 3 more years to enjoy being part of another chapter.

@by: :) Thanks for the good words! I took the COB bid and am going with it. The sad part is that my 3D pledge class won't speak to me as they say I'm a traitor to the cause. Some people actually think the chapter can be restored. I spoke with a relative who is on the board of a major NPC and she told me that the likelihood of reinstatement of 3D is non-existent and that I should find a house I like and move on and not look back. I'm sad as I loved my pledge class but I know I am super lucky to have found a new group of sisters.

You are doing the right thing. If your 3D pledge sisters are genuinely friends, they will remain your friends no matter where you initiate. You are not being a traitor. The chapter is done. No matter what they or their parents say, that is not going to change. You were mislead because the DDD actives did not share the seriousness of what was going on. You have been released and are free to find a lasting sisterhood elsewhere. That is the best, most optimistic outcome for you. You are mature to have recognized that.

all of the DDD girls will realize soon enough that the chapter is done- your pledge class will probably be joining other sororitys next year so don't let their comments now bother you. They just don't realize there is no saving the chapter

Surprisingly phi mu already has a lot of reject Tri Delts. I know at least 3 girls there who preffed DDD
