future of unhoused

by: JelloShot

Well, TPA is officially housed for five years. This could be really good for them. It means their nationals is finally stepping up to keep them housed, and they have the strength in their chapter to have a house. Who knows what the future holds for them. As for SK, they definitely have the money to continuously be housed in other organizations buildings, but building their own house likely will not happen in the near future. I have no doubt they will be housed from here on out though, regardless of if it is their own house or not. ASA will likely remain unhoused, but anything can happen as we have seen lately. And as for DPhiE, it would really be a shame for the greek community to have to see them go if they do not have the strength to stay colonized here, but that is all rumors. As far as we know, their nationals has them covered for a long time.
And as for unhoused frats, they shouldn't be worried. If they create meaningful relationships with the sororities they pair with, one would hope that they wouldn't drop them simply to social climb. I predict TPA will keep their unhoused pairs, as it seems they have solid relationships with them, but I know perhaps a few frats on campus might be interested in pairing with a housed TPA.
What a transitional year for greek life at IU! Let's spread the panhel love instead of bickering! After all, the future of our organizations rely on the fact that our school administration does not get fed up with us and try to kick us all off hahah

Better to band together and support one another than bicker. At the end of the day, we are much more alike than we are different. Let's hope that everyone succeeds!

Why did tpa double lease delts on top of their current housing at terra? Gonna go bankrupt in a year if they don't lose the house first. lol you think one finance major could of told em this isn't monopoly

They have zero financial issues. How could they possibly sign the lease for the house if Delts saw they weren't financially eligible? Ridiculous rumors. Go be venomous and spiteful somewhere else.

IU kicked off all unhoused greek life in the 90s. Lets not repeat that

No they didn't idiot. Those chapters lived in Ashton dorm and they closed because of membership numbers: ASA and Tri Sigma. AOII left campus the year after due to hazing allegations which were later proven to be untrue. SK left campus because they built what is now Pi Kapps and the house was a money pit and their housing corp went bankrupt. Get your story straight, please.

SK couldn't get it right last time they tried to build a house, what makes them think they can do it right this time? They will be unhoused again soon and do not have a plan, as they would like eveyone to believe by all of their posts and threads stating they do...they are irrelevant bottom tier chicks...

ASA has officially stated that they are never planning on getting a house

by: falseFeb 23, 2017 6:21:36 PM

If you talk to their sisters at all, you'd know this is completely untrue. If they had never planned on getting a house, they wouldn't have put a bid on ATO. For now, yes, they're not interested in the house. Never? That's a bit extreme.

My predicition with this whole housing stuff going on is that TPA will eventually step back from the lease agreement. They have yet to find many subletter for their other home and that is only driving the overall price higher. Sooner or later their exec will figure this out and make a move for the best of the organization. Delts will be open for bidding by mid summer

Not gonna happen js...this is a done deal. Terra has nothing to do with the delt house.

It's not a done deal until deposits are paid and girls move in. Here's the thing. TPA signed the contract to live in Delts, however there are a number of girls that are still hesitant. If 10 girls drop out of Delts. If five girls signed but cannot live in Delts, the each of the remaining girls will have to pay aprox $615 more per year. Ten girls cannot live in, 1,200 more per year. See how this can add up fast?

Real talk, you have no facts on people hesitating. You are speculating which means nothing. If you are not in TPA, you have no knowledge. If you are in TPA they should kick you out for spewing BS. The finances of their members is not your concern. Because they are unhoused now, does not mean they do not have financial resources.
Keep your opinions in your head and off GR.

You are a troll, nothing less if you are trying to stalk who is advertising to sublease an apartment on every site.

There is literally 1 add on Craigslist, unless you are stalking FB accounts of TPAs that is not what they are posting about.

If you need to lease a place go lease one, if not stay off GR...

I hope something can be worked out for ASA and DPhie. Maybe if another frat house becomes available they should split it and both live int he same house?

By: panhel love
by: wellMar 1, 2017 12:22:10 PM

ASA also has almost 200 girls in their chapter. If they wanted to fill a house, it seems like they would be able to do that pretty easily if their Nationals allowed it.

Splitting a house will not occur.

The thought of either DPE or ASA 'getting' a house is most likely years away. Their house total numbers would need to remain equitable and constant over time. Financial wherewithal would have to be available from both local and national levels. Alumnae help to the chapters in the form of advisory boards, fundraising groups, and general assistance within the realm of sisterhood must be formed and continuous.

Let each sorority have their time as an unhoused group. These burgeoning sororities may stay unhoused if the IU women who continue to join want it that way.
