what's it like being in an unhoused frat?

First, housed chapters tend to be a lot bigger. I don't think there is a housed chapter on campus that has less than 100 members. The unhoused tend to have about 40-70 guys (excluding Pike). So if you're looking for a more personal experience you might want to consider unhoused. Obviously, you can still have a personal experience in a large housed chapter, but you aren't going to know all 130 guys. Housed chapters pair with housed sororities and unhoused pair with unhoused sororities. Also, most housed chapters have a live-in requirement. So if you aren't interested in living in the house, I'd ask what their live-in policy is. Honestly, there is good housed chapters and bad housed chapters. Just the same as unhoused. The only difference is a physical house.

I know a lot of the unhoused frats have around 100 guys right now, I'd say maybe 60-90 is a better estimate for the average population of unhoused fraternities
