I hate this ranking stuff but as a senior in an "upper middle" sorority this is my perspective. They're probably the most exclusive in terms of who they pair with. From what I've seen, they pair with a smaller range of sororities than other top frats. They pretty much just pair with the top sororities (they're obsessed with pi phi and aphi) and occasionally the upper middle ones, and they almost never pair with middle tiered sororities and when they do it's usually just a pregame or PCP. When they do pair with sororities that aren't in the top three or four, they say they're really excited to pair with you to change things up but then they pretty much just hang out with each other no matter how much you try to talk to them or whatever. Most of the other top frats like pi Kapps and beta and Fiji are more diverse in their pregames and pairs I think. So their exclusivity makes people think they're THE BEST. But it's really about what you value as to whether or not you think they're the best.

Sigma Chi is one of the upper tier houses that I don't think the general population would categorize them as the stereotypical frat douches. They are well-rounded and don't make others hate them. This is my perspective as a guy from knowing a few brothers. Maybe these brothers don't represent the house as a whole, but that is just what I have seen.
