frat parties

by:

I wasn't able to rush but a ton of my friends did and will most likely get bids. After bid day will I be able to go to the frat parties if my friends invite me/take me? Or do you have to be in the sorority pairing with that frat to even be let in? Are sororities weird about letting their new members invite their friends to pairs?

You can't tag along for a while since they're new members and have to be looked after by older members to make sure they don't drink themselves to death

Maybe as a sophomore or a junior you will be invited to A pair, but new members don't invite GDIs to pairs.

don't be that girl. don't make your friends drag you to their pairs as a new member. they want the chance to be able to bond with their pledge class at pairs and you definitely won't be invited to go with them for a while.

lol im a "gdi" and although i didnt expect my friends in houses to invite me to a lot of pairs they were very welcoming and took me out to a lot of parties. I'm not sure who you're friends with but mine didnt exclude me from going out with them hah

1. clearly your friends weren't new members

2. it's okay to do this once or twice to show a rush crush around, but for some random friend to come to pairs regularly is just plain weird

It would be super weird of you to tag along.

After the party opens? Sure

But to tag along to a pair? Doesn't look good for the new member or you

This looks tag-along, try-hard, and honestly kind of pathetic

are you planning or would you ever consider actually rushing?

I think the OP is wondering if they can go to the parties with their Greek friends after they open up.

My opinion is that the new members really need to bond with their new sisters so taking you along could be bad for them in that they are focused on you and not their pledge class friends. When they are Sophomores, they can take you to a few pairs but not every weekend, maybe 3 times in a semester?

My advice to you is to make your own group of friends who also did not pursue Greek Life and make your own sorority. If you have guy friends in frats they will most likely invite you to their parties.

Don't DESPAIR, you can have a great Social like at IU.

Make guy friends. Easiest way to get into a party at a Frat you like.
