bid process

I know so many people have asked but can someone really explain the process if you have 3 houses listed and house one doesn't have you on their first group does that mean you are completely off getting a bid from them ? And is it possible to get a bid from house 2 if they did put you in Their first group to get a bid or am I completely without a bid because I didnt match house 1
