Got three back, two I like one no way. When I only list two does it still count? Since I will be going to all three houses.

If you list only one and DO NOT match with it, you will not receive a bid. Keep that in mind, however if you absolutely DO NOT see yourself in the other chapter, and you list it you MAY get a bid there.

By only listing two of your three when you go to rAnk, aka not maximizing your options aka suiciding, you take yourrself out of the chances of being a quota addition. That means if you're not on the initial bid list for either of your two favorites, you get no bid at all. However, if you maximize your options and rank all three you have a chance to be a quota addition to any of the three chapters.
Say you rank sororities A B C in that order. On As list your number 75, on Bs you're number 56, and on Cs you're 75. Not on the initial 55 of any house so you will become a quota addition. You're higher on Bs list so you may be added there. But let's say A didn't match with the first 25 girls on their lost, you may get a bid from them. Or if the same thing happened to C you could be added to their list. Or still be added back to A because you ranked them higher!
There's so many factors that go into quota additions so there's no way to predict how it will turn out. The important thing is to always maximize your options.

Can someone with actual information on the process answer the above.

In order to be guaranteed a bid, you must do two things:

1. Attend all the pref parties you are invited to.
2. List all the sororities you attended a pref party for on your final ranking.

The guaranteed a bid thing means you're guaranteed a bid to one of the sororities you attend a pref for, but it might be your second or third choice. Here is an example on how that works:

You list the three sororities you preffed:

#1 A
#2 B
#3 C

Let's say all three of those sororities have a quota of 55. (Also to simplify things, we're going to assume all three sororities match to their top 55 choices.

The computer will first try to match you with A. If you were #60 on A's list, the computer will then try to match you with B. But you were #64 on B's list, so it tries to match you to C. But you're #57 on C's list. Under the old system you would be released and not receive a bid at all. Under this new system, since you maximized your options, the computer will go back and add you to one of your three choices as a quota addition. The program tries to match you to your top choice, but also looks at balancing the new member numbers, so for instance it will try to add you to A or B, but if they already have 10 other quota additions and C only has two, you may be assigned to C.

This system is only valid if you list all the sororities you attend a pref for. If you only ranked A and B then left C off, you would not receive a bid at all since you made yourself ineligible for quota additions.

So, if you are 100% sure you would rather not be Greek at all than accept a bid to one or more of the houses you pref, then only list the one(s) you are sure you'd accept a bid to. Listing all your options guarantees you a bid, but if one of the chapters you preffed is a weaker recruiting chapter, then understand the odds of your being a quota addition for them are much higher.

Every year there are PNMs who go bidless because they don't maximize their options then they regret it afterwards. You will have a great experience being Greek at IU no matter what chapter you end up with.

This was the worst process and makes me think twice about how much I love IU, I hated the long stretched out process. I have 2 housed houses to go back to. Will be happy with either but don't know if I will get even one back. Four of my friends dropped today and most are just tired and not that excited.

Go to the parties and give each a chance. If after the party, you aren't feeling it drop.

AGD and ASA are both great houses and clearly see something in you. I suggest you see it through. The only way that you really lose out is by not seeing it through because this is how things turned out for you and you're not going to do better if you just quit. Clearly you wanted to be Greek or you wouldn't have gone through this process so I think that the best thing right now would be to go to pref and accept your bid where you get it and see what the experience is like

That's because some people on here are all about tearing other people down and making IU greek life look terrible, while the rest of us sane folks just want the best for you

I'd listen to @Honestly above if I were you. You only have things to gain if you accept your bid. Whereas if you don't then you won't go greek. Your best chance is this year, don't squander it. You'll feel left out when your friends and people in your dorm are out at sisterhood events or parties

He Ho Woah is WRONG! Go to all your parties and if you can only see yourself in 2/3 chapters and absolutely can't make the 3rd chapter work DONT list it especially if it's a weak recruiting chapter. You can still be anywhere on the bidlist for the other two chapters but won't be able to participate in quota additions. NO chapter gets all of their 1st bid list EVER! If all three are strong recruiting chapters I would list all three. You are more likely to be a QA for a weak recruiting chapter then a strong recruiting chapter if you are invited to both.

This what sucks! What are the real answers. Ugh.

By: See
by: Excuse me?

Just because you didn't get the results or answers that you wanted doesn't mean that the answers aren't real

Going to the parties and accepting your bid if you get one are literally the only things right now that can change your situation for the better and make you realize that we are right and that all the houses at IU are great

If you don't take your bid, you might as well not have gone through recruitment

If you are looking for true answers to your questions, go to greekchat.com and ask your question in the Indiana 2017 recruitment forum. I have found them to be giving informed answers throughout this process.

And YOU--3 great choices. Yes it can suck. But you have wonderful options--be grateful! Lots of girls would give anything to have your list.
