snap bids
by: iu2020what houses if any have done snap bids in the past? how common is it?
#1 by: sorry :-(
If you were previously released by a chapter, do not count on a snap bid. Snap bids will happen before bid day and there are less than 25 of them total. Girls are called by Panhellenic, not the chapters. The chapter will not know if you are a snap bid, you will go to bid night and people in the chapter will assume they did not meet you at pref or the pledge class members will assume you were at a different pref party. They are not made known at all. Do not pin your hopes on it at all.

To be eligible for a snap bid, you have to have signed up for recruitment and made grades. If you meet those two criteria, then when a chapter needs to offer a snap bid they first ask to see who dropped out in the later rounds. For example, if a girl drops once she gets her 9 party invites but chapter X invited her to 9 party and they need to offer a snap or two, they will look at that person. They also may look at people who were unable to come back for recruitment in January. Honestly, if a PNM was regretted from a chapter, she most likely will not be considered for a snap. There are SO FEW snaps offered that they don't have to look hard to find someone.

But then how do chapters choose who to snap bid? It can't just be random
