Hot GDI girls can sometimes get into fraternity parties, however they won't be allowed in for pairs with other sororities.
Knowing girls in sororities will not help you get into parties. Fraternities host the parties. You would have to be a) hot and b) a guest of a girl in a sorority.
Personally, I wish IU was different. I know at other schools fraternities have open parties and anyone can go, but greek life here is so competitive if you are a GDI chances are you won't have many (if any) opportunities to interact with greek life. It's just the way it is here.

Becoming friends with guys in the fraternity would help you get into parties. They can put you on a list and after 10:00 you can get in even with pairings. I did this often and had no issues. Sometimes we would hang out early and then go down for the party. Just because your GDI doesn't mean you can't go to parties. You just have to be more creative.
