does being a legacy help on third street?

by: PNM

How often does a house on third street take legacies? My mom went to IU and was in one of the sororities on third street, would that help at all? Thank you!

Depends on the house. Kappa is the oldest house and therefore has the most legacies; many in-house. Kappa alums are VERY involved and give lots of money. So legacies are VERY important there, especially those from old money.
Pi Phi would be next. While they do consider legacies, an expensive wardrobe and good bone structure outpace a daughter any day. However, they have influential alums as well, so there is legacy pressure there.
Alpha Phi has become only a "top-tier" sorority in the last few years. So they definitely take good face and nice hair over legacies--most of them from a time when A Phi was just average.
