by: LfhAs a sophomore , pretty , fun and good gpa 3.0. Who would be easier to get a bid from Aphi or Kappa. I am not a legacy. Had a great time at both.

Most people would assume aphi is harder to get a bid from because it's so "top tier", but it really depends where you'd fit in the most. I was invited back to aphi and not kappa, so I obviously have a better chance getting a bid from aphi. I wasn't invited back to phi mu, agd, adpi, or aephi. It doesn't mean those houses are harder to get a bid from than aphi, it means I didn't mesh as well with them. Basically whichever house you fit into is the house for you and the one you'll probs get a bid from :)

GPA aside, Kappa is actually more difficult to get a bid from. Because of many legacies and hometown/high school connections, they begin rush with a number of near-locks. They are the second oldest sorority at IU (after Theta) and so they have very far-reaching granddaughters and daughters going through.
A phi is certainly a desirable house, but they may not look for the legacy or social connections that Kappa look for. A phi looks more at looks, clothes and very outgoing personalities. Also, they feel the need to openly compete with Pi phi and Chi O for the "pretty" girls.

Get your facts straight. Nice try. Visit studentaffiars.indiana.edu for list of chapters on probation. APhi is not one of them.
