grade waiver

by:

I've heard that almost all houses cut if you have below at 3.0, is this true? I have below a 2.8 and my grade appeal was accepted, however I don't know if I want to go through with the process if there is absolutely no chance of getting a bid, even though this is something I really want. Please offer any help/advice possible! Thank you

Something to think about.... I'm guessing if your appeal went through there was a circumstance why your grades are low. However, remember that joining a sorority takes a lot of time and energy. There are various events, leadership positions, mini-classes (like new member education), etc. that you have to go through, not to mention the fact that you're always around your sisters and getting the motivation to study is difficult. If you're not able to keep up a decent gpa without being in a sorority, it's going to be harder once you're in.

I would go ahead and go through formal since you've successfully gotten your grades appealed! Some chapters will cut you for it, others will not as badly. I'd just give it a shot! If it doesn't work out, you can always try again next year or go through informal in the fall when your grades are better. Good luck!
