by: anyone knowI know a few older girls in sororities, and wasn't able to do formal rush. Is continuous open bidding only for houses that didn't make quota or are there exceptions? I've heard some stories of girls that get in other ways or by knowing people. Just wondering if I could get any advice or answers before I looked into it more.

There won't be any more bids going out until next semester. So, you still have time to go through formal recruitment this year. Don't count on your friends having enough pull to get you a bid into their houses if they need a few girls after formal. Your best bet if you're sophomore is to go through recruitment.
