Until Nebraska joined the Big Ten, every school in the conference was a member of the AAU. Big Ten schools (Nebraska excluded) are some of the best public schools in the country. Northwestern is the only private school, but 11 of the other 13 are Public Ivies. So saying you go to a Big Ten school almost always means that you are receiving a top public education.

Like the only respectable schools in the big 10 are umich and northwestern. The rest are safety schools that happen to have smart kids who got rejected from actual good schools

Big ten refers to athletic conference, it has absolutely nothing to do with academics. Is that what you bragged to your friends about? "I go to a big 10 school," lmao
