from the other side of girl's rush

I am a freshman who went through rush at the beginning of the semester and was lucky enough to receive a bid from my #1 house that happens to be a house websites like this and whatsgoodly would call a "top tier" house. I want to say to girls who are considering rushing next year, get off this website. it will psych you out. I was all over this website, and every other greek site before rush and it made my rush experience so much more difficult and so much more filled with unnecessary fear. the only thing you need to know for rush is this: put your best self out there to absolutely every single house because you never know which one will be your home, there will be so many houses that surprise you. yes IU has a competitive greek system, but there are 23 chapters and if you put in sincere efforts to be engaged in conversation at each of them, someone is going to see something great in you. it's not impossible. go in with confidence (not arrogance) and faith in yourself and houses will notice it. the girls who failed during rush had their heart set on one house, and did not even put in any effort with talking to girls in other houses. rush isn't as superficial as everyone makes it out to be. just be yourself and make those girls fall in love with your wonderful qualities.
