Do you think it is harder to make friends if you aren't apart of Greek life?

Greek life is actually a much tinier portion of the student body than you think...not as big as other schools by any means. There are a ton of other ways to make friends.

I disagree to a certain extent, I didn't end up joining a house when I joined recruitment and I have struggled immensely trying to find my place at State. A lot of ppl already have their groups and it is just hard to try and fit in and make not even a meaningful friendship, but just someone who you can go out with and who likes it when you are around.
I know there are other ways to make friends, Im just still currently looking.

I know that because I am not in a house, my opinion doesn't matter much but I just wanted to give my two cents since I am currently on the other side.

I agree with the post that said there are many more ways to make friend besides Greek life. Going Greek is just ONE of hundreds of ways to meet people. Living in a dorm alone connects you with so many different people. You're physically stuck next to them. My closest friends are geeds i met just from leaving my door open. Other than that, MSU is a super friendly school that has a heavy focus on social life compared to other schools. You can easily sit next to someone in class and start a conversation, walk up to a random tailgate and meet friends, or sit with random people and introduce yourself in the caf..all things me and my friend used to do before we made friends. You can't rely on Greek life to do it all for you because you still have to put yourself out there once you join a house

I don't think I'll ever have better friends in my life than the guys in my PC. Joining clubs gives you a great chance to meet people with similar interests and build great friendships but there's nothing like going through a common struggle like the pledge process together. You'll meet a ton of guys in other houses and girls in sororities when they're over or at the bars so I don't think there's anything like Greek life when it comes to making friends.
