letters of rec

I am from Alabama and coming to MSU this fall. In the south it is very common to get letters of rec, resume, and photos in order to be considered. I know that isn't the case at Michigan State but can I still send that stuff in? Will I look like I am trying to hard or would they be impressed?

If I'm being honest it probably would look like you're trying hard. Just be yourself find a place you like and that likes you.

I say go for it! Why not? It shows that you really wanna be there. I'd rather have a girl in my house that wants to be there than one that's just iffy. Plus they'll give you a little extra consideration. So what if you're a try hard?

If you're a guy just don't do it. Mention you're from the south and they'll probably give you a bid.
