transferring!
by: transferHi! I might be transferring because the school I go to now is too far from home. Is it hard to rush at MSU? could anyone offer any advice to a potential transfer?

I'm a guy so I can really only give the fraternity perspective but if you're coming in as a sophomore you still have a pretty decent chance of getting a bid in the fall regardless of the house. If you're a junior there are still a few houses that will take you but they're more likely to be "middle/lower-tier", with new ones like Alpha Sigs, Phi Tau and Phi Delt probably being the easiest to receive a bid to at the moment. I'm in a lower tier house and it honestly sucks that we can't get socials with Phi, Chi O, KKG and Theta at the snap of our fingers but I still think of even our worst members in higher regard than anyone in Beta Zeta, who some girls like for some reason. In short, definitely try to check out as many houses as possible during welcome week, talk to any friends you have in greek life before coming here and try to get to know the guys in the houses that you're rushing as well as you possibly can.
