tell house i'm potentially transferring?
by: two48I'm applying to another university, so it's sort of up in the air (but I'm pretty confident I'll get in). Should I disclose this? I feel like it's super premature to bring it up, and it would create awk tension, my "loyalty" would be questioned, etc.

I don't get it. Are you planning on rushing or have you already rushed? Why do you want to even join a brotherhood/sisterhood if you are trying to leave the local chapter that's just a waste of time to spend educating you if you're just gonna take their time and then leave

You need to think about the point of rushing a house in the first place. A fraternity/sorority isn't just some social club you can utilize for your benefit and then ditch. You are joining a family. that requires trust, commitment and sacrifice. If you are just gonna abandon them then don't rush. That would be like being an orphan and finally some family takes you and then a year later you're like "oh btw the family I really wanted to adopt me just said they'd be down so I'm gonna go peace"

Your sorority will not hate you! I know girls who have done this and they will definitely not "give you hell." Just explain why you're transferring and that it was a hard decision but for the best. You're an idiot for posting this on this site because now everyone will know who posted it.

My roommate from freshman year was in a tier 1 sorority and transferred. She's still friends with girls from her sorority though and she's not even originally from Michigan.
