tier system

Every house wants the best guys and girls but top houses pretty much get first pick so they get the guys and girls who're not only cool but also good looking. Middle tier is more likely to get someone either good looking and awkward or average all around or totally lame and that's how it works as you go down the tiers. Don't take this wrong, every house has great group of people but the higher you are on the tiers, the more selective you can be, hence more likely to get the best. That's why tiers matter and why people care.

I find the girls that are really obsessed with it are the 6s, 7s and 8s who want to be associated with the 10 girls in their house that are actually dimes.
Any guy obsessed with being in or bragging about a "top tier house" has a sub 3.0 GPA and will likely be cold calling after college.
