It depends of what sorority you are joining because they all have different gpa requirements but yes it does matter. Usually what happens is you can't go to any social events until you get your gpa back up. Greek life does this to keep up the image of Greek life and help combat the stereotype that fraternity and sorority members are stupid. But most required gpas are low like 2.5
