dropping out of rush
by: helphow do i get an invitation to a cob of a private event of a certain sorority. i am dropping recruitment tomorrow because i dont like any of my houses that much to pay dues

If the house you want to cob dropped you why do you think they will take you now? Cob is not that common for upper houses. Most likely the houses that will participate are the ones you have left that you don’t like. Drop if you don’t see yourself in the houses you have left but you will most likely will not get a bid so prepare yourself for that outcome

No one should count on cob! The fact is the houses you still have will be the opportunity for cob most likely. If an upper house does cob it will be a few girls at most and the people who receive the bid will be someone with a close relationship with people in the house. It is not they way to get a house that already dropped you.

Here's another C.O.B. angle/reason that gets overlooked; sisters graduating in December. The absences created by those members mean openings for potential new members. December commencements constitute some people graduating one semester early and some people graduating one semester late. This has no relation to girls dropping houses or chapters not retaining members. Most houses will have a handful of December graduates, although, it'll likely be maybe four sisters. Each house varies each year. HOWEVER, those bids will very likely be given to girls who have a friendship with a sister or two. C.O.B. isn't a bad option, it's just that the odds of getting what you want are not in your favor.
