Would it be hard for a transfer junior to get a bid from a fraternity?

It really depends on who you know. If you're really close with people in the house and they'll vouch for you then being a junior won't stop you from getting a bid. Also some of the newer or lower tier fraternities gladly give you a bid if they seem to like you. If i was you i'd rush nothing bad can come of it

^ what this person said!
As a junior it depends on who you know. If you're someone who would fit in and you know enough guys in the house who will vouch for you then you're gold.

you also wouldn't want to join a house as a junior unless you already have friends in that house anyway. Your pledge class is going to be made up of mostly freshman and as a junior you're not going to want to hangout with bunch of freshman dudes and never get the chance to go to the bars because all your good friends are still 19.

If you were rushing in the south then the answer would be yes. But this is michigan state; The answer is a huge no.There are probably 3 really selective houses on campus and they will all take juniors. Rush everywhere.

Thanks for the feedback. If I don't know anyone in the houses, would it still be hard?

It definitely won't be easy. If your a personal person that makes a good first impression you shouldn't have a problem getting a bid. When school starts in the fall, I would advise you to find the houses you're interested in and contact their rush chairs and explain your situation. That will go along way in getting you a bid
