everyone is relevant
by: Go Greek
There have been numerous discussions on this site regarding the strength of the Greek system at MSU. At the same time, other postings continuously list the top few houses and conclude with "the rest are irrelevant". Seems like it can't be both ways. In order to get to a strong Greek system - EVERYONE IS RELEVANT. I have friends in top tier houses and friends in houses that are middle or bottom tier and they are all relevant to me. Including the women of Alpha Xi Delta. Please shut up and give these girls a chance. Grow up and pick your friends based on character not which houses they are associated with.

Whenener AXiD doesnt act the same way as the rest of the greek community, why should they be surprised when that community doesn't embrace them as part of the group? When they start acting like a sorority, then they might earn another chance from the large number of current critics. Until these girls figure out that being part of the greek system also includes tradition, sisterhood, community involvement, and philanthropy, no one will ever take them seriously if all they do is party inappropriately.
#3 by: What about the XOs?
So k and Sparty On are saying that AXiD has to realize they need to behave respectfully, not be huge partiers and need to act more like a sorority. If they don't, they won't be embraced by the Greek community and will always be bottom tier. In all fairness, how is it that the Fall 12 XOs can behave the way they apparently did on Spring Break and XO can still be considered a top house? I know they have been around awhile but seriously how you act is obviously not nearly as important as how you look. Admit it. Philanthropy, morals and sisterhood have no impact on whether a sorority is top tier. It's all looks.

Sororities are not "party clubs." They are reputable organizations that hold social events, do philanthropy and grow sisterhoods within them. Even though it appears like the top tier girls do social events/party all the time, they know that they still represent their sororities and that being greek is more about the relationships within their sorority and the relationships between their sorority and the rest of Greek life, rather than just partying. If AXiD wants to be respected, they need to be more like a sorority and less like a group of GDIs.
