sororities

by:

I am coming to MSU next year and I was wondering what sororities are top tier and you think will stay top tier? I just don't get what determines if a house is top tier or middle?

Top tier houses are:
Alpha Phi
Chi Omega
Kappa Kappa Gamma
Alpha Chi Omega
Kappa Alpha Theta

Those are top 5, but there is a HUGE difference (drop) between APhi and Chi O compared to the Kappa, AXO and Theta. But I honestly wouldn't worry about only getting a bid from the top 5 houses. KD, Zeta and even SK are good middle tier houses that have a pretty good greek life experience too :)

I think kappa is probably closest at dropping to middle tier and theta arguably is middle tier, depending on what pledge class you're talking about. Zeta is a pretty solid house but I wouldn't say the same for SK, who are well known for being boring and disliked by top fraternities and quite a few middle tier frats too

I agree. I would say theta is closer to KD and Zeta than the top tier houses. KKG has had it rough lately so I'd say dropping but AXO fall 11 is still around bringing them down too, both are still top. SKs are kind of crazy from what I've heard at the frats

A Phi
Chi O

Kappa
AXO
Theta

Zeta
KD

Kappa, AXO and Theta are technically still considered "top-tier" but they have certain pledge classes that are horrendous… like middle/bottom tier material. Phi and Chi O have had consistently great pledge classes for the past four years and that is why they are on a different level than the other "top-tier" houses. Zeta and KD are middle tier, nothing special but not bad either. SK is insane, I would't recommend that house to anyone. The rest of the houses are pretty irrelevant/bottom/not anywhere close to M.A.C.

From a male's perspective i'd say that the most fun houses to have over are phi and axo and the hottest sorority is chi o. But kappa and theta definitely have some lookers as well, they're just low key on the drinking and are more into hanging with each other than meeting guys. Zeta is actually pretty decent and KD can rage but they have some weird girls. Otherwise i don't care about the rest

Kappa is not low key on drinking, especially their juniors and sophomores. Maybe they just don't like going to your house. The best mixers and tailgates we had this year were with Kappa and Phi. I agree AXO is also fun but Phi is the hottest sorority by far and I swear there's only like 10 girls in XO and Theta that go out.

Agree with you on that one. Kappa is not "low-key" with drinking at all. They just don't really talk to guys at one on ones that's why they aren't that fun but trust me, i've seen my fair share of over the top drunk kappas. Chi Os and Thetas don't ever go out and from the ones i have seen around campus, they are nothing special. The hottest sorority by a landslide is Phi. AXO fall 12 are hot, but the rest of the house is terrible looking. But I agree that Phi and AXO are definitely the two sororities that actually show up and have fun at one on ones.

100% agree with the comment above. Kappas can throw down, Phi and AXO are the most fun and Phi is the best looking house by a large gap. The middle tier houses can also be a good time if you catch them on the right night.

You shouldn't be worried about who's the top house because all frats have socials and date all those houses listed. This isn't high school.
