Sorority Recommendation Letters
by: 2021nyI am a prospective student and thinking of rushing a sorority. I am also out of state and don’t know anyone in this school. Would I be at a disadvantage at rush since I wouldn’t know or have any connections with the sororities beforehand unlike Michigan residents? Also is it ok if u don’t have recommendation letters?

You will be fine, as many people going to MSU from Michigan are from super small towns (You'd be surprised to see how many there are here, trust me), yet they still rush and do great without knowing a single other person at MSU. Ultimately, a sorority is going to choose you if they like you for who you are. Rec letters really will not do much, unless the sorority in question did not see you a whole lot. Just be yourself, and go into it with an open mind. Try doing GOOD research on sororities (so not this website. tbh we come here to spread rumors + stir the pot), and try to go to events as soon as you get to MSU. Try to befriend people who are also going to rush sororities as well, as that will allow you to get multiple "pools" of knowledge on sororities.
Be yourself, and you will get in to the sorority that you were meant to be in. Trust me.
