stop telling freshmen to only rush top tier houses
by: Izzo
Reality of the matter is, most don’t get into top houses. And there’s thing out of your control at this point that they look at, like where you went to school, where youre from, sports you played, and how attractive you are. Obviously, all frats tend to care about those things, but the standards are raised significantly for top houses.
You can’t guarantee a bid at any of the top 5 to top 10 houses. Greek life is far better than being a gdi, and wasting a semester because you only rushed top houses sucks. Rush places you’re interested in and keep a mix of top and mid houses.
To the freshmen: some top houses get as over 200 rushees and they only talk around 30 kids. So you’re sitting at a 15 percent chance right off the bat. Then you gotta realize a lot of pledge class is already decided by family and friends of current brothers that decided to rush. Don’t take anything for granted. And Greek tiers change all the time so don’t worry about it too much
