i want to be in a sorority
by: SadI want to be in a sorority so bad, when I went through fall rush I got dropped and I’m heart broken. I feel like I should just give up. I feel like since they dropped me once what’ll change about next year? Idk what to do, can I give spring rush a try? Is there even a spring rush? It feels like it’s all politics in Greek life, like sorry I’m not a legacy but I’m still interested!

Do spring rush! Don't worry so much about the rankings of sororities. If you focus on that, you will become very focused on status rather than the actual character and comfort of a sorority/group of girls. There will be spring rush for some of the sororities but not all. I suggest you give each house a chance during spring rush because you never know where you could fit in and have the time of your life!

They should be posted on their facebook pages and girls can reach out to you as well! My sorority is doing Spring rush for sure so if you want to give me your name and email I can give it to my VP of recruiment and she can contact you with information! If you dont feel comfortable giving your name on here though I totally understand.

Maybe try joining some clubs and making friends outside of greek life, find people who like you for who you are, not what they want you to be...do you honestly want to be a part of something that didn't acceot you for who you are? just doesnt really make sense to me i guess but whatever, to each their own i guess

Maybe there wasn't enough spacing a lot of girls rushed this year from 2,000 to 700 is a tough cut.

only 1400 rushed and the reason why the number is so low is because so many people dropped, if everyone stayed with the process more people would be in a house

I would email all the houses recruitment chairs. At this point they most likely know how many spots if any they have. Some may hold a more formal event (but nothing like fall) that will last a few days. Your emailing the houses will show you are interested. You have nothing to lose. If that doesn’t work out try fall. All houses take a lot of sophomores every year.
