I was wondering in the past few years what sororities generally participate in spring rush/informal recruitment?? Like has ZETA or Alpha Phi ever done it?? Thanks!

Usually spring rush doesn’t happen in any kind of formal way for upper or mid-upper sororities. If there are any available openings (because new members have dropped) then it’s usually word of mouth through friends already in each sorority. I would suggest that if you have friends already in any sorority that you are interested in, you talk to them about any available openings. Good luck, it’s always possible to get in!

Honestly all of the houses including a phi and zeta have done it in the past. Members may drop, girls graduate in December, etc.... usually under the radar because they only may have a few spots. Some may do something more formal but not common. People will try and make it a negative thing but people drop for many reasons and if a house has spots they usually try to fill them.

Drop rate is high in both those houses named above.efa

Spring rush and COB are NOT the same. No upper tier or upper middle tier sorority has done spring rush in the recent past. Spring rush is done by those sororities that did not make quota during recruitment. For all other sororities that initially made quota, but may have had seniors who drop or go alum early or have had members drop for other reasons (health, grades, transfer) then those will do COB. This is a very informal process that is based on knowing someone who is already a member in that sorority. If you are interested in a particular sorority, but you know no members, you really don’t have a chance for COB. If you know members, then let them know you are interested in potentially joining their sorority. Every sorority has members drop so every sorority has potential openings.
