This has been asked and answered many times. It is important. The higher the gpa the better. True it is only one factor but gpa alone can get you cut. If you are a freshman with a 3.5 you will be good for all houses. If you are a sophomore and have a 3.0 you will be good. Gpa requirements vary by house so there is no magic number but if you meet this criteria gpa will not be a factor anywhere.
