Few rich kids I know staying at State were f-ckups in high school. Majority of the rich kids with brains rejected from here go to like K-College, Indiana (Kelley), Miami (Ohio), Loyola (Chicago) ... a handful started at State and then transferred here. Staying at and graduating from State? Peasant move. They're all legends in their own mind though - quite comical.

I mean, it's true. If you're rich why would you go to a state school? Most rich people I know look at state as basically a low-key community college. If I was filthy, I'd beg my dad to work some angles to get me into UofM or more likely, I'd just go out of state.
Michigan is a dumpy state. If money was no object you could go to a school in California, Colorado, Chicago, Miami University in Florida, George Washington in DC, SMU in Dallas. Coming to State when you're rich is just non-sensical - a provincial follower move.
