pnm math

by: Math expert

This is just a little math breakdown for curious and upset pnms. Roughly 1400 girls went through recruitment. Also, 50ish girls get in each house. 50 x 14 houses is 700 girls.
Now, quite a few will realize this isn't for them but that means that you cannot go into recruitment saying "I want this house and only this house."
You might be furious a house didn't select you, but that's ok! First, you're not a horrible person it's just math and there's a lot of competition. Second, being in a sorority is a privledge not a right. It is an honor to be selected into a sisterhood of women you connect with and all the connections and perks (and fun too).
If you act entitled on this site and to actives, it will show through so just be you and let the system work.

The number of girls that can get into a house will be higher if there are more people going through recruitment,

They won't raise quota that much more. Houses are already too small to accommodate chapters 200 big. I'd say 55-60 at the max

That's so stupid. If this many girls are rushing, they need to accommodate. At least make them 75. I feel like most girls will drop after round 3

Did you not read the "don't act entitled" they don't NEED to make quota 75. Why take 50 awesome girls and 15 subpar entitled girls when they can just have 50....?

there are a lot of quality girls going through rush, more than what that pledge class number would allow. The pledge classes should be higher if more girls stay after tomorrow morning.

Just as many girls rushed last year and quota was not increased by much. Unfortunately that is the way it works at MSU. You will see a lot of girls choose to drop out after the next round of cuts because they don't like who they have left. Happens every year. If more people gave the "lower" houses a chance the process might change, but since they don't it won't. Quota is determined by the number going through preference not the number that begin the rush process.

Why does MSU force gels to put every house back on lists that they have no intention of joining? At other schools you can just drop off houses by not putting them on your list. It doesn't make sense to go back to 4 houses you hate and would never join and have only one you like and hope you get into that one house! Then tonight after the voting you once again have to rank each house. Stupid!

It just goes to show that there's room for another sorority at MSU. There are way too many fraternities
