informal rush or formal???

I am going to be a freshman this year and plan on rushing for a sorority. However, I will be attending msu starting in the spring semester. Should I rush during informal, or wait and rush as a sophomore during the fall? What sororities take part in the informal rush? Thanks!

If you rush as a sophomore are you looked at differently to be with freshman girls rushing?
