will we be getting a new sorority?
by: CuriousWe haven't gotten a new sorority in like 2 years and there are 5 more fraternities than sororities. A lot of girls didn't get bids this year so there would be plenty of girls to choose from.

While it's not impossible, it's more likely that the next sorority to come to SDSU will be one that has previously existed here. Tridelta and KKG have never existed here before.

Youre just downright wrong. Kappa has chapters at csu Fresno, csu Northridge, and Cal poly slo.

It doesn't look like we will be getting a new sorority this year, unfortunately. But perhaps next year? As far as I know, Theta has the strongest alumni base by far in San Diego and was eligible to come back as early as this year. So if I had to guess I'd say they would be the next sorority to come back. But the name of the next sorority to come on only matters in terms of national relevance and if you are a legacy or have some sort of affiliation with that sorority. They're going to get all the leftovers of rush and start at the bottom no matter what.

Theta was kicked off 4 years ago. All the girls who were here when that happened have graduated by now. If they do come back they would be starting from scratch, not from where they were when they got kicked off back in 2011. So any reasons why they got kicked off would no longer be relevant.

You two both need to calm down. Theta and ADPi were both kicked off once, but in both cases it was so long ago as to be irrelevant. There is no reason why either of them shouldn't be next to come back. If either of them were to come back, they and the chapter that got kicked off would be the same only in name.

because they are usually not good houses. a xi d has a controversial philanthropy. and the other two houses usually struggle.

The controversial philanthropy thing is a legitimate argument but as has been said numerous times, the next house that comes on is going to get the same girls regardless of their letters. So if that house happens to be AOPi or ZTA they aren't any more or less likely to struggle just for that.

I disagree. Strong national chapters can have pull on "middle" girls who want to be in a top house nationally. They sometimes choose being new in a nationally top rather than being mid/bot in a nationally meh house.

That's not true. New houses always get all the rush leftovers and then maybe a couple girls who were able to get bids to existing houses but are legacies of the new sorority. Strong nationals can help them be allowed to colonize at SDSU in the first place and can help them get a house but as far as the initial recruitment process it's the same no matter who the new house is.
